The schedule:

grade one schedule.PNG

This is an outline of your childs learning journey throughout the week. It will most likely change as we navigate online laerning together and see what works best.

Please note that all live classes are highlighted in yellow.  It is important to try and attend these classes as this is a time where we all get to interact as a class.  Live classes cannot be rescheduled or recorded due to the FOIP act; this is another reason why it is important to attend.  The focus during these sessions will be predominantly focused on core subjects.  The duration spent in a live class will depend on the time of year, attention span of the children that day, whether or not we need to seperate by grade, and  and the content being learned.

*on top of live classes I will also be meeting with the children in small groups often.  This will occur on microsoft teams and you will get a notification for your scheduled meet time in teams.  I hope to have small groups running with a consistent schedule by the end of September and I will notify you through teams when these will be starting up.  Please be patient with me as I navigate all of this technology and the best way to teach your children.  I am trying my best to learn at a record pace (for me).

Please do whatever is best for your family, even if that means doing work on evenings or weekends if that works better for your family unit instead of the suggested scheduled time.  Each week their will be a check list of what needs to be submitted to me via seesaw, Kahoot and Boom Cards.

Individual parent communication: This is a time to request an appointment during office hours or for me to assist you with any technology related issues.

Individual work time:  This is suggested time to work on your childs activities and assignments for the day.  Your childs assignments come from 3 places:

1.) On this website under daily activities >>> Blogs

2.) given at the end of a live class related to what was learned that day in the live class

3.) assigned on your childs seesaw portfolio or BOOM cards

when you are not working on assignments I encourage you to engage in play with your child.  Play is the building blocks for success later in life.  Please use this time to work on turn taking, conversation skills such as questioning, reasoning, and statements.  This is the time where your child may also be acting out the skills that they have learned in class or on their assignments, use this time to help them make sense of the world around them.  What may look like simple play is really fundamental skills being practiced.

Daily physical activity/game/challenge: These are pre-recorded stories by any of the kindergarten team teachers.  This will be on the kindergarten team website for your viewing.

All Green blocks (Recess times) are recommended break times for your child to grab a snack/lunch and have some opportunities for free play or outside time.

Office hours: During these times I will make myself available to you.  If you have questions or concerns please reach out to me   I will also be reaching out to students needing extra support during these times.

Material pick up:  I will send an announcement via Microsoft teams and on Remind 101 when it is a pickup week for supplies.
