Mrs. Pirie's online grade one class

I cannot wait to meet all of your smiling faces this September.  I am absolutely thrilled to be given the opportunity to teach online and I am so excited it is have the opportunity to teach grade one and two.  I want to remind you that it will take us some time to find out groove.  Lets remember to be kind and show grace towards eachother and the students in the classroom.  Schedules may change, platforms may change as we navigate these uncharted waters together.  I am so excited to grow as a teacher this year with you all. 

 

For our live classes we will be using microsoft teams.  If you are new to online learning you will be given a username and password from the divison.  If you had previously been using microsoft teams with the previous teacher then you will continue to use this username and password (I believe).  We will also be using seesaw, Boom cards, and Remind 101 (for parent communication).

It is beneficial to have a space in your home for online learning to take place.  Ideally a space away from distractions, with a flat surface for the laptop, computer, or tablet to rest on.  The space should be large enough to be able to house the supplies that need to be easily accessible (listed below) as well as space for the child to be able to do work at the table.  However, it is also perfectly fine to work at your kitchen table as well.  Please just make sure that the child can easily access materials and is able to have enough space that they can do their work at the table while using their device.
